Bo “Hi Dawg Squad, This dog we adopted from you is turning out to be a real water dog. I thought Mia would be the one but Bo swims real well and has a blast. Bo is Rick's favorite water toy. Have I told you lately how much we love that dog? His 1st owner was a real dumb----. :) Hope all is well ....... hugs ....Yvie" |

Lona
Well it took almost a year but our patience paid off. Lona got the best home ever! Here is what her new family has to say.... Hi Carole, Just wanted to send you some pictures of Lona. Don't cringe but we've been calling her Kaylar (we're Star Trek Fans) and she is warming up to it nicely. As each day goes by she becomes more and more at home. The dogs are all playing (Brandy's still cranky at times) and the cats have settled down to the point where Jasmine was rubbing back and forth against Lona like she does with Boone. Our household is pretty much back to normal for the ZOO that it is. Thanks again, she's a great dog. Also, please let Sharon (cat division) know that we can't imagine life here without Buster (aka Buddy). He also has fit in perfect. Take care and God Bless you and your staff. Dave and Cheryl |

Ruby
Ruby has come a looooooong way since she was found in a box with her brother Hank. This little girl has blossomed into a fun loving, exuberant pup who en joy s every minute of her life. We still wonder….will she ever grow into those ears?

Rossa
We just got this email from Rossa who was pulled from the shelter booth at the June 2006 Best Friends adoption. I just wanted to let you know that I'm doing ok. When I first came to my new home, I wasn't sure about it. They changed my name from Rossa (short for Testarossa, a fine Italian Sports car) to Bunny (a rodent with big ears). Then on my 3rd day, they made me wear a tutu to a dog parade. I wondered when, or if the humiliation would end. After a couple of weeks I've learned that my new family is just a little weird and they really love me. I love my new house and my weird new family too. Love, Bunny P.S. I'm sending a picture of me in my Halloween costume. |

Gadget
Hey y’all…it’s me Gadget. How do you like my sister Rye ….she’s a looker isn’t she? Yep, after a year in The Squad I have found my forever home! Rye was also adopted from The Dawg Squad last year. Our family is terrific. I got for lots of runs with my Dad and when I get back home, Rye and I play in our big backyard! Mom makes the best dinners and gosh! I just can’t tell you how happy I am. I’ll miss everyone in The Paw’d Squad (even you Emma!) but I’m sure glad I have a real home now. |

Adelaide
Here's a letter from Adelaide's new guardians: Adelaide is fantastic. I do believe she is happy and she is giving us such happiness. We didn't change her name, although I'm not sure she's responding to it yet. We've been calling her "Addie." Beau thinks Adelaide is the best playmate to walk the face of the earth. She puts up with his constant attention and has as much energy as he does. She holds her own too (I think she can run faster than he can). They sprint up and down the backyard. She's such a good girl -- no accidents in the house, seems to tell us when she wants to go outside, is not aggressive with the cats, and has easily learned the house rules from Beau ( #1 - dogs don't go up to the top bedrooms because those are the cat sanctuary and #2 - Beau eats in the kitchen and Addie eats in the dining room (easily learned) and #3 - They sit for their own treats and don't lunge for the others' -- That's been harder for Addie, but the more she learns, the more treats she gets learning, so I think she's okay with that. We love her. Joyce and I believe that destiny (and you) brought that picture to Joyce's attention at the perfect time. I can't thank you enough for making it all happen so fast and so easily. She is such a loving and sweet dog. We know how lucky we are. |

Truman and Bindi
It’s a small, small world. We received this email from the woman who adopted our little pup named Truman (who by the way is now in an ADVANCED obedience class). “I am catering a photo shoot for 2 weeks right now and long story short.....my client has 2 dogs and invited Truman to come play today. It was quite a fun coincidence to find that one of their dogs came from you also! She is formerly "Bindi", the Basenji mix. We took some photos (with their 13 year old Auggie as well) of them after they played their hearts out...........so I thought I'd share them with you!” Truman is in the middle, Bindi on the far left, and Auggie, who certainly does not look 13, is on the far right. Yes, it's a small world indeed!

Rayna
It always makes us happy to see our pups grow up into fine upstanding doggies! And here is our Rayna, now known as Maddie, graduating from her obedience class. She looks absolutely wonderful in her cap and gown and seems to really be happy about her graduation present - the leopard ball in her mouth. Congratulations Maddie and Bret! Bret, you did a great job "raising" this pup! |

Marielle
Marielle is 5-1/2 years old and comes to our adoptions with her 3 year old sister EVERY Saturday just to say hi and pet puppies. She has been coming to these adoptions since she was in a stroller. Here's the story behind the picture she has drawn for us: "This is how I get to see the dogs every week. I leave my house with my Dad and sister and we drive to the store. Then I get to see the dogs in crates and go inside the store to see the cats. Sometimes the dogs are on rugs outside and I get to pet them. My name is Marielle and I am 5-1/2 years old."

Greg
Greg is probably the luckiest puppy ever! Who adopted him? Why the family that adopted our very special girl Charmin last year. That's Charmin on the left giving Greg a smooch (don't worry Dad, she won't eat little Greg!) We were so excited when they emailed us for Greg because we knew Charmin had the very best family! Greg is going to get swimming lessons from Charmin and maybe once he's there for awhile, the other dog Misty will consent to be in the next family photo. She just glared at me when I walked in as if to say "You AGAIN...with ANOTHER puppy?" HAVE A GREAT LIFE GREG AND SEND US LOTS MORE PICTURES! |
