Thurston

It’s me Murphy….I’m the cute tan dog lying on the bed. My name was Thurston Howl. When Dawg Squad found me, no one wanted to foster me because I had whipworm and it’s a really contagious disease if you’re a dog. Well, Jennifer, Sarah and Bryan said they would be really careful and foster me and make sure that Montana (black dog in back of me) didn’t get sick. Funny thing about fosters…sometimes they don’t let ya go so I am here for good with Jennifer and her family. And that white dog on the floor is one of my fosters…her name is Ali. She has a home now but she came to live with us so Montana and I could teach her how to behave in a house and get adopted quick. We must be really good teachers because she only lived with us for two weeks. So, who wants to be my next foster? I like working for Dawg Squad!

Petula

Remember me? I was a little fluffy Rottie girl named Petula Bark but my nickname was Stuffy because I looked like a stuffed animal? WELL I’M ALL GROWN UP NOW! My new name is Hailey and this is my best friend Toby. My Dad says I am very well behaved and obedient although I do still have a stubborn streak. Toby and I still get to hang out with Dawg Squad people because Dad has to go away sometimes and the Squad people come and dog sit us. So we have the best of everything….a great home, a great person, and we still see get to hang out with the gang every once in awhile.

Honey

Well, as it sometimes happens, Honey’s fosters fell in love and decided to adopt the “older” chow chow and add her to their family. Yes, that is our blind pitbull Bitsy lying next to Honey. We think Honey knew that once she got to this foster home she would never leave. She’s just one of those dogs who grabs your heart strings – once you spend time with her, you can’t let her go. Just ask Bitsy.

Trucker

Hey Dawg Squad! Look how big I am now. Yep…it’s me TRUCKER. This dog Katie and I got off to a rocky start. She was LOTS bigger than me when I moved in and she tried to boss me around. NOW I AM DA BOSS! I have 5 cat friends too and 2 boys and a really cool Mom and Dad. My house has a Koi pond and a swimming pool and lots of yard to run around and play. I’ve been to obedience school and well….I did OK. I have always been kinda headstrong. But I’m really happy and having a great time. Thanks to you all for helping me find my forever home!!!

Jillian

We just got this picture and note from
Jillian’s adopter, Nikki

“I just wanted to thank you for raising Chopper (Jillian) to be such a wonderful puppy. She is so terrific and Joe and I are thankful to have her in our family. She is now potty trained and knows how to sit, stay and jump. We are in the process of teaching her how to “paw”. She is a very smart girl and learns really fast! She loves the beach and is super friendly to dogs and people. Chopper is protective of her sister Cheyenne – they are both doing well together. Thank you all for being there for all the animals that need someone in their life. You all are truly heroes.”

Trucker

It’s me Trucker again. I just wanted to show you how I looked at my Obedience School Graduation. I liked to wear my cape backwards! Don’t I look handsome? And I’m very proud of my Diploma. It’s very important that all dogs go to Obedience School so that they learn how to train their humans properly. My humans are very well behaved, when I sit, they give me a treat. I’m very proud of them!

Snuggles

One of our favorite pups, Snuggles, just sent us the following note:

“As you can see, I’m in a great home. I really love Mom and my brother Hobe. We get to play a lot in our yard and we run around and protect Mom from all the intruders (birds, lizards and other creatures). I love spending time outside but I love nighttime even more when I lay on Mom’s lap while she’s reading or watching TV. Then when bedtime comes, we all go to bed – she lets us sleep with her. I love my home, my brother and my Mom. I know Mom loves me because she kisses me a lot. Well, I got to go now – there is something in the backyard and I have to check it out. Hobe is coming with me. Thanks millions for finding this home for me.

Love,
Snuggles”

Tater

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME! IT’S ME TATER TOT AND I JUST TURNED TWO YEARS OLD. Don’t I look fit and happy. When Dawg Squad first found me I had mange and a very bad eye infection. My eye had to be removed but as you can see, just having one eye doesn’t mean I have to GO SLOW!

Mini

Dawn, now known as Mini, was adopted from the Dawg Squad a few months ago. She asked her guardians for a playmate and they came back to our adoptions and decided Achilles, now known as Willie, would be her perfect playmate. Dawn met Willie during the housecheck and invited him to stay and play. A perfect match in an absolutely perfect home. Could 2 Rotties look any happier? Amanda and Jeff wrote us “Thanks so much for everything. It's been nice for Mini to have a doggy companion, and we can't remember when Willie wasn't a part of the family. He really is the sweetest little guy.”

Bluebelle

Roxanne, formerly Bluebelle, was at the West Valley Shelter for three months. Thru the kindness of the shelter staff and volunteers, she was kept healthy, happy and very well socialized. But a dog can stay at the shelter only so long, so a plea for help went out. Somehow, our emails found Linda Blair who found a wonderful couple who had lost a dog that looked just like our Bluebelle. And once they met her, they couldn’t resist her smile. So our little pitlet has gone from a concrete floor to snuggling on a bed with two amazing people and having a huge yard to romp around in. Roxanne’s person says “She is just now starting to snuggle with us. Normally she will come give us a lick in the bed, then she goes to the bottom of it. We pull her up by us, and then she goes back to the bottom of the bed. Thursday night, she actually stayed right next to me. Maybe she knew it was my B Day.”
