Foster a Dog
When we take on a new dog, it is our preference to immediately place
him/her in a loving foster home. This is the ideal situation for a rescue dog's transition to a permanent home as fostering provides a stimulating and nurturing environment and gets the dog accustomed to being a well-mannered house pet prior to
adoption.
Additionally, a foster home can provide valuable
information about the dog's personality and behavior that will enable us to place the dog in the most compatible home.
Unfortunately, we don't always have enough foster homes for the number
of dogs in need. In these circumstances we have no other choice but to
place the dog in a kennel.
If you are interested in fostering a dog we would love to talk to you!
We ask that you complete our Foster Questionnaire. After receiving your completed questionnaire we will set up an appointment to discuss the possibility of your fostering a Dawg Squad dog!
Besides giving a dog "in need" another chance at life, there is one more benefit to fostering a dog...
If you are considering adopting a dog but aren't sure you're ready, fostering a dog is an ideal opportunity to bring a temporary dog into your life without the long term commitment.
While we like our fosters to have
experience with dogs - fostering can be a great way to see if your
current dog would benefit from a companion, or if you really are ready
for a new family member.
